Important results from the project

The project partners´ objective was to share their experiences of their work with the legislation, gain new insights from the partners and to improve cooperation with suppliers. This was met. The goal for the coordinating party was to gain insight in how the chemicals legislation is perceived and what driving forces and obstacles companies experience and to investigate how the innovation capacity is affected. These objective have been met and we have plans for continued studies in the future.

Expected long term effects

We hope to be involved and contribute to the work of updating policies and legislation, either through collaboration with public authorities and/or with companies.

Approach and implementation

The project was coordinated by IVL in collaboration with industry stakeholders. Stakeholders represented companies of different sizes and sectors. A reference group with actors from authorities, industry associations and NGOs was also involved. The project was a literature study, combined with interviews with representatives from many different companies. Several meetings were held with mainly stakeholders, but also the reference group. The meetings were fruitful and with good cooperation.
