Automation of antenna isolation simulation

Important results from the project

The goals were partially achieved. It took an unexpectedly long time to get familiar with the already existing, quite extensive program code for automatic model generation. Functions for evaluating the accuracy and efficiency of EM simulation were developed, but functions for alternative simulation methods and model simplifications were not developed.

Expected long term effects

In the longer term, we expect the project to contribute to more efficient and automated antenna development, and better utilization of old models and results.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out as a thesis under the supervision of an experienced antenna developer. There was a rough plan with a prioritized list of desired new features. Follow-up meetings were held every week. The level of ambition had to be lowered gradually, but the highest priority goals were achieved. It took longer than expected to familiarize yourself with the existing, quite extensive program code for automatic model generation so that the new was well integrated with the existing.
