Important results from the project

Purpose: In virtual reality, to stimulate patients, distract pain and create experiences that arouse wonder in artistically constructed virtual paintings. In this vr app interactively practice yoga, physiotherapy, 3D orientation, with a personal motion capture trainer. To start from the problem that "training does not take place" and create the gaming industry´s attraction to trigger the brain´s lust centers with rewards and interactions. Different levels so the training can suit different users. Collaborations with regions and patient associations. Put the app on steam.

Expected long term effects

Expected effect, is that this VR app can distract pain and create wonder. Studies have shown that wonder as well as rehab lowers stress levels and improves physical and mental health, lowers blood pressure and strengthens the immune system By combining digital art experiences and rehabilitation training, increased health and well-being is created. When we IRL are limited to the hospital room, we can experience virtual wonder in new soothing worlds. A remarkable intersection between art, pain relief and exercise

Approach and implementation

The plan has been to create an app from our prototypes and to get contacts with institutions and patient groups who are interested in the result. We have had good contact with various patient organizations and hospitals that are interested in trying out the app in the spring of 2021. We have worked intensively with programming, design, sound design and voice recordings to get a complete game. Due to the corona, we have not been able to work as iteratively as we wanted. It will now take place with the finished game on steam and in patient organizations and regions.
