Call Policy and behavioral issues for a biobased circular economy

Purpose and goal

The unique collaboration between the municipality, the institute and the business community enabled all parties to learn and rig stuctures to contribute to a circular economy. All parties have worked on identifying threats and opportunities for circular changeover and embarked on a journey of knowledge and practical work. The project has made a difference and contributed to knowledge, new collaborations, companies with new business models, a procurement unit who tested circular procurement, a burgeoning new network and a possible roadmap for the next step.

Expected results and effects

In the municipality: - Circular procurement, the first steps to stimulate more circular suppliers - Equality training for future conversion. - More knowledge and a road map on how to conduct a circular impact internally and externally In the business society: - workshops and training where the majority of companies proceeded with circular business ideas - Varberg´s circular map

Planned approach and implementation

Varberg´s municipality has run the project together with RISE. Six companies have participated in the project. These have, under the guidance of RISE and The Loop Factory, worked with ideas, challenges and opportunities regarding circular economy and what new business opportunities a new way of working can provide. There has been individual activities between colnsultants and companies and also collaboration between companies - companies and between companies - municipality.
