Purpose and goal
Analytic Imaging Diagnostic Arena (AIDA) is a national arena for research and innovation in medical imaging diagnostics, aiming to enable high-quality, large-scale use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. Through close collaboration between healthcare, academia, and industry, long-term conditions are established for systematic, safe, and responsible AI implementation and adoption.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to generate multiple clinically validated and implemented AI solutions in imaging diagnostics, contributing to tangible patient benefits. Through training, networks, and clinical implementation projects, healthcare capacity and competence will be strengthened. In the long term, the project aims to contribute to broader impacts including improved diagnostic accuracy and resource utilization, enhanced patient safety and equity, and more efficient clinical workflows.
Planned approach and implementation
AIDA provides a neutral arena where medical and technical competences meet gathering experiences, frameworks are developed, and knowledge dissemination is ensured. Interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration is crucial for successful national AI implementation. AIDA activities include national workshops, courses, capacity building, clinical fellowships, validation studies, and network establishment.
