Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop an AI-based tool that can identify and classify small particles and inclusions in steel. By combining expert knowledge with material data analysis, we will improve quality assurance and the development of new steel types in Swedish industry.
Expected effects and result
We expect the project to deliver faster and more reliable steel analysis, reducing the need for time-consuming manual steps. The results will be improved process control, increased sustainability, and stronger competitiveness for the Swedish steel industry on the global market.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is carried out in collaboration between research institutes and leading steel companies. Work will proceed step by step: data and image collection, AI model development and training, testing in industrial settings, and training and sharing results with the industry.
