Purpose and goal
Demonstrate accelerated materials development tailored for industrial needs by ICME-based materials design approach.
Expected results and effects
Implementation of the project helps improve QTE knowledge base of lightweight steels and build software tools that serve general-purpose materials design. It can also have influence to materials suppliers and consumers by demonstrating the ICME approach and illustrating accelerated materials development. Expected results include a design material and suggestions for future research and development.
Planned approach and implementation
Activities include (1) building a knowledge base and summarizing industrial needs, (2) implementing materials design using best available computational tools, and (3) pointing out future directions for a better design material.
