Purpose and goal

During the project, content and technical solutions have been developed including user friendly applications of primary functionalities. A pilot study has been conducted, showing very promising results regarding both feasibility and effects on primary outcome measures. ACTsmart has been demonstrated to a large number of stakeholders in health care, as well as presented at scientific conferences. A business model for further development, product testing and use in regular health care has been developed.

Expected results and effects

The project has resulted in a digital solution that has shown to be feasible and effective. Potential partners in further development of the digital solution, business models, as well as national and international dissemination have been identified. A financial model for development and product testing in collaboration with Region Kalmar during the next 3 years have been formulated. A plan for wide international dissemination of ACTsmart has been formulated, and used in an application for innovation funding (EIT Health).

Planned approach and implementation

Content and technical solutions have been further developed and tested in a pilot study. User/consumer analyses have been conducted with patients, staff and researchers. For the development of the business strategy, discussions have been held with e.g. KI Innovation, Innovation office Karolinska University Hospital, and Region Kalmar regarding the revenue model, data storage, legislative and regulatory concerns etc. Communications with actors in academia and health care has been aimed at identifying possible partners in further development and commercialization processes.
