Important results from the project

The purpose was "to form an industry-related task force by identifying areas of importance for the long-term competitiveness of Swedish industry". The project has conducted external analyses, identified factors of long-term importance for Swedish competitiveness and proposed policy measures for strengthened competitiveness. Our assessment is that the goals have been achieved. Some 20 reports have been published and 60 large and small policy proposals in different areas have been presented.

Expected long term effects

Competitiveness will be high on the policyagenda for a long time to come. The reports will provide important input into the discussion and implementation of measures to strengthen Swedish competitiveness. Communication with decision-makers has been central. Each report has been presented at a seminar at the Entrepreneurship Forum and in total just over 2060 people have taken part in the report and discussion, where various decision-makers have participated in panel debates or in other ways.

Approach and implementation

The project has largely completed the project- and time schedule. However, the final report and final conference were postponed by three months because the problems with construction of the productivity database and that data deliveries took longer than expected. Collaboration with external researchers and writers has worked excellently.
