Purpose and goal
Med BioSNG+ we want to develop a new catalytic technology for decentralized
applications to convert green CO2 into green biomethane. The core innovation is a new
reactor concept based on a catalytic heat exchanger.
Currently, biomethane is separated from biogas (60 vol% CH4, 40 vol% CO2) and injected into the gas grid. A complete conversion of carbon dioxide to methane will make the use of biogas more economically competitive and also increase green methane production by 40%.
Expected effects and result
The goal is to convert 40% of the CO2 in a biogas to Biomethane and thereby be able to increase the total production of biogas in a biogas plant from approximately 60% to >97%.
Planned approach and implementation
A detailed project plan can be found in the project application. The design studies have now started and the first Kick-off meeting between the parties is on July 17th.
