Digital services will promote democracy
Democracy in Sweden celebrates 100 years and in connection with that, Vinnova finances 14 project that will develop digital services that strengthen confidence in public institutions. Among the projects are new digital services in important aeras such as accessibility in healthcare, a cohesive employment service and security in urban environments.
Another example is citizen research, or citizen science, which is considered an important instrument for maintaining confidence in science in society. Together with Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet, the winning team from the hack for hack Hack for Sweden will create better conditions for nature enthusiasts to become citizen researchers.
Vinnova also funds the development of innovative services that help citizens and journalists to review the public sector. This is done through interactive visualization of climate data at the local level, increased transparency in procurement data and simulation of how the citizen's own data can be used in a secure way.
The idea is that the projects will show the way for how public organizations can become more open and take advantage of citizens' involvement. Prototypes of the services will be demonstrated during an event in 2021.
Seven of the projects are now granted funding and will start during the winter. Another seven are already up and running since the spring.

Medborgarnavet - a citizen-centered information sharing service for open e-government
The project will give the individual easy access to information contained in government registers but also to other register information that the citizen has the right to access, for example from banks.

Own power - work rehabilitation in collaboration with digital support
Will develop and test a prototype for work rehabilitation in collaboration between the citizen and the public the actors, through a mobile app and a web app. Work rehabilitation in collaboration with digital support will give participants empowerment and confidence in themselves and the profession.

User-driven accessibility information to the public space for people with functional variation
The goal of the project is to, through user-driven development, create a scalable user-friendly technology that helps cities meet the needs of people with functional variation and give them the opportunity to influence accessibility in the city.

The general public and nature conservation: Biologist, civic research and biological diversity
The project will find ways to receive, quality assure and store data collected via an app that engages users to collect observations of species. The purpose is to increase the public's interest in nature, make citizens more involved and strengthen confidence in Swedish nature conservation and research.

Stadslabbet - an AR-based app for citizen-driven dialogue and co-creation
Will develop a new tool for citizen dialogue and co-creation of urban development projects in an Augmented Reality-miljö, which provides the opportunity to take part in the described project conditions and concrete proposals.

A digital system for increased source sorting and involvement in the public environment
The project will develop and use digital services for collateral and dialogue between the municipality and residents, a circular solution developed for "on the go" packaging will be tested in a real environment.

Objectives, motivation and measurement in chronic disease
Will develop a digital tool, and useful procurement documentation, which supports patients as co-creators to fulfill agreed prescriptions and increased self-care ability.
