Outcome financing - a method for better welfare and increased rate of change?

Mon 4 Oct 2021 at 13:00-14:00

Many want to work with promotion and prevention efforts and there is continuous social innovation in the area. But how can we increase the pace and get a more long-term sustainable work? What potential does so-called outcome financing have for strengthening Sweden's ability to relocate as a welfare nation?

Welcome to a seminar where we discuss how we move from project to everyday established ways of working.

There are several welfare challenges that are encouraging for us to meet, for example around mental health and the need for effective security promotion and crime prevention efforts. We want to explore whether new financing solutions between public authorities in combination with support for implementation and impact measurement give us better tools to meet various welfare challenges.

During the seminar, Ing-Marie Wieselgren from SKR and Tomas Bokström from RISE give their view of what is required to conduct long-term sustainable development work and present an idea for so-called national outcome financing. What are the most important lessons from previous work on Sweden's first social outcome contract? How has the work continued in Norrköping, Botkyrka, Örnsköldsvik and Hässelby-Vällingby district administration?

Elisabeth Andreew from Den Sociale Investeringsfond (DSI) in Denmark also participates in the seminar. DSI is a state initiative to support municipalities and regions to dare to try social investments where the long-term gains go to the state level.

We end the seminar with a panel discussion with politicians and experts consisting of Lars Stjernkvist, politician S, former KSO in Norrköping and Björn Bergstrand, Sustainability Manager Kommuninvest, Ebba Östlin, KSO Botkyrka and Jakob Hellman Vinnova

The seminar is a co-arrangement between SKR, RISE and Vinnova.

Sometimes we photograph or video record our activities. If you don't want to participate in photos or videos, please let us know when you arrive.
