Important results from the project

The project has taken the development a big step ahead towards the purpose to establish paradigm-shifting event-driven monitoring using robots that quickly present data to decision-makers, with interpretations about how e.g. a virus outbreak, pollution or use of warfare should be dealt with and with actions evaluated directly. The project goal to technically demonstrate fluidics for 3 different robots for threat prevention in chemistry and biology and reach TRL 3 (proof-of concept) was reached.

Expected long term effects

The project has demonstrated work-up fluidics for three robots for environmental surveillance of pathogens, invasive species, and chemical threats. It has resulted in 1) new work-up technique for large water volumes; 2) manufactured robot components drawn using CAD; 3) schematics for fluidics, one per robot; 4) secure data communication, a sharp commission test with our gas detection robot; 5) PR on LinkedIn and homepage; 6) IP agreement between partners. A new tool for decision makers is within reach.

Approach and implementation

The project was organized into 5 work packages, one for each of three application areas plus project management, and communication. The project partners have had continuous communication regarding progress, final robot design, future production costs and technical difficulties. We have not had any significant delivery problems of components and final tests for demonstration of workup fluidics have been successful, which has resulted in a well-functioning project plan regarding work and time.
