Coordinator ZENERGY AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 200 000
Project duration June 2016 - February 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to create conditions for commercialization of prefabricated and modular building systems that complement WoodXGlass, SHC Solution (Smart House Concept), as well as to establish powerful partnerships for commercialization. WoodXZip i.e. a combination of CLT-Technology, (Cross Laminated Timber) and ZIP, fire-resistant and energy-efficient building components for use as wall, roofs or floor elements. A ZIP-Element consists of Magnesium Oxide & PIR.

Expected results and effects

The project has resulted in new knowledge and understanding about the strengths of WoodXZip elements, and identified opportunities to create robust solutions. The increased knowledge is a very good investment for a continuation project, a demonstration, where the system can be tested and compared with BIM design model and it is evaluated in the lab environment.

Planned approach and implementation

This final report encloses results full resutls from building physical investigations (hygorthermal analyses) and environmental analysis, while the commercial potential of WoodXZip is drafted. The results and methods developed in the context of this final report are based on qualitative and numerical analyzes of possible WoodXZip solutions. This means that a variety of models have been developed and tested, and can be used in the future. Supplementary literature studies and laboratory analyzes were performed separately for ZIP-Elements.
