Important results from the project
The project´s aim has been to develop solutions that facilitate interaction between vehicle integrator and supplier, with particular focus on requirements management and the functional safety standard ISO26262. The goal has been to identify efficient views, metrics and analyses, thereby enabling higher precision, quality and efficiency in development. By basing concepts and tools on the architecture description language EAST-ADL, consistency and exchange capabilities between tools and stakeholders are secured
Expected long term effects
The project results show the potential of using an architecture description language in terms of efficient and consistent collaboration between stakeholders and across tools. The concepts are described in public deliverables and developed as open source tools. Tools are partly on the Eclipse platform EATOP and partly on the commercial tools Enterprise Architect and System Weaver. The project´s diagram format sgraphml can be used by tools for EAST-ADL and AUTOSAR. For these reasons, project results can be applied in both academic and industrial, and large or small scale contexts.
Approach and implementation
The project has been divided into four work packages: needs identification, concepts, tools and validation, in order to structure the work content and project deliveries. In practice, however, the team has worked iteratively over all four phases. A natural part has been collaboration with other FFI projects. During the project´s second and third years, public seminars were organized, serving as a good basis for internal and external collaboration. Project results are therefore in a good position to be applied and refined within the companies and in the related projects.
