Purpose and goal

With the project, a first important step to enable home-based stroke rehabilitation for hands has been taken. A platform has been developed that enables patients with reduced mobility to control virtual representations of their hands. A software solution complements the patients´ reduced mobility and makes it possible to use their virtual hands in a free and natural way.

Expected results and effects

In the project, a prototype for rehabilitation of hand movement for stroke patients has been developed. The software has been developed to be easily adapted to different patients´ needs. Furthermore, in the project tests has been conducted with clinical experts and patients.

Planned approach and implementation

Clinical expertise has been involved from the first step to ensure that the technology is developed based on established methods of rehabilitation. Much focus has been placed on combining new technology that allows for more efficient rehabilitation, with existing and proven methods of rehabilitation.
