Important results from the project

Visitation restrictions make it hard for both buying and selling actors in cases where products need to be demonstrated to clarify its potential within the buyer´s activities. Many industries today depend on physical meetings for this. The project, run by VEIDEC in collaboration with Reeinvent, aimed to capture the power of the need to limit visits to establishing a new sustainable way of working where these demonstrations can take place virtually instead. In selling companies, there is great potential in this by both reducing travel and the waste time associated with it.

Expected long term effects

There is also an economic upside to the solution in addition to managing the Corona situation and the environmental benefits. As this is in line with the company´s environmental and sustainability profile, the concept has been highlighted in customer and marketing communication and will thus hopefully spread further. By being a leading sales company, you open the eyes of buyers to how modern technology can be used. It will create an expectation that other selling companies will also follow the good example.

Approach and implementation

The project has been based on the solution that existed for planning physical visits to instead plan and execute virtual ones. Standard solutions have been used to adapt to the special situation of a virtual product demonstration. With the help of an AI solution, we have analyzed from the customer base suitable customers to book and which products should be demonstrated. Together with the users, we have found the right balance between prepared material and more ad-hoc solutions based on the sales call.
