Purpose and goal

The aims and goals of the project are fulfilled! The work has produced: 1) Three case descriptions of firms and they are all written in such a way that they can be used in numerous situations, such as in student teaching and seminars with entrepreneurs and policy makers. 2) Six lessons of the case studies: i) Dominating founder and a talented team; ii) Clear user focus; iii) Creativity-driven organisation; iv) Non-existent market borders; v) Clear vision driven by passion; and vi) Smart utilization of resources.

Approach and implementation

This report is based on case studies of the three businesses. Each study describes the idea and genesis of a firm, beginning with the events that led up to its founding, and then follows developments up through June 2014. As a preamble to presenting the cases, lessons discovered during research are briefly discussed. The report concludes with a few tips on how to use the case studies in situations such as teaching and entrepreneurship training.
