Important results from the project
Raise awareness of life science companies outside the incubator, about the help they can gain from commercialization and business development. The companies have experienced this as very positive. Increase cooperation between incubators. This has been very good and all incubators miss that the project did not become an extension from 2018. UIC´s value through the project is that we have received an increased inflow of companies that did not know us before.
Expected long term effects
According to the calculation in the application, calculated on the number of life science companies in UICs business development programs in 2014 (28th) and the first half of 2015 (9th), it was assumed that UIC in 2016 would be in touch with about 20 life science companies not connected to the universities and their help for verifying of projects. The project was extended to 2017 and the result was that we have approved 25 activities among 23 companies, all finalized. The feedback received from the companies is very positive and we have had a number of requests after the project has ended.
Approach and implementation
UIC has marketed the project on their own website and through partners/business partners to reach the target group. The marketing reached the target group quickly, which is natural thanks to our strong network within the current focus group UIC has had an assessment panel consisting of CEO, program managers and representatives from UUI and from another incubator to get a good mix. The applications received have been evaluated by this group and upon positive response, the company has presented the project to the committee and answered any questions after which a decision has been made.
