Funding from Vinnova SEK 500 000
Project duration May 2025 - February 2026
Status Ongoing
Venture Future Mobility

Purpose and goal

TWINSHIFT is a project that aims to develop and implement a digital twin platform that tracks the life cycle of the frame of STILRIDE´s electric bike. By integrating California Metals’´s expertise in sustainable materials and LCA data with STILFOLD´s manufacturing technology, a comprehensive solution is created to optimize design, material efficiency and production processes. The result is a scalable solution that builds stronger collaboration between mobility players in Sweden and the US.

Expected effects and result

A digital twin is developed with the goal of 90% accuracy from simulation to physical results. The digital twin is tested on a prototype to reduce the climate footprint thanks to optimized material use and advanced production technology. LCA method is created to be able to measure emissions, energy and climate effects. A method for effective technology and knowledge exchange between Swedish and American partners is created for faster innovation.

Planned approach and implementation

Phase 1 (Month 1–3): Research planning & Digital Tvilling-utveckling. Integrera LCA-data from California Metals with STILFOLD manufacturing. Objective: Data model with material data, 5 key parameters traceable in real time. Phase 2 (Month 3–6): Build and validate virtual model of STILRIDE chassis. Objective: 90% accuracy. Phase 3 (Month 6–9): Build physical demo, complete report. Objective: 10% material savings. Dissemination via 2 conferences, 3 papers.
