Venture Civil-military synergies
Call Collaborative project for civil-military synergies

Purpose and goal

To develop an innovative digital solution for real-time information sharing to support effective management and transfer of healthcare resources available in the event of major incidents, disasters, or war. Project TriPoD (Triage, Position and Documentation) develops a digital triage-tag with a unique ID number that is attached to each injured person. The system applies commercial technology, tested, and developed in collaboration with end-users in realistic enviroments to ensure high usability.

Expected effects and result

The system is expected to improve informationsharing throughout the acute care chain. Via a web portal, the number of injured, priorities and position is visualized in realtime. Continuous real-time updating and seamless information transfer of data ensures information about casualties when handed over between different actors. Digital technology will strengthen command and decision-making. TriPoD is intended to increase civil-military synergies in the event of mass casualty incidents

Planned approach and implementation

The TriPoD system is adapted to end-users needs and consists of four components that are developed and tested in an agile development process. Nordforce Technology AB develops the triage tag prototypes with support from qualified consultants for technology development, in software and hardware development. All project partners participate in the project management and the results will be disseminated in scientific publications, at conferences and for stakeholders in the field.
