Reference number
Coordinator Lunds universitet - LU Innovation
Funding from Vinnova SEK 712 961
Project duration December 2017 - March 2020
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim is to increase Swedish patients´ involvement in development of future healthcare by providing objective, reliable and patient-adapted information on processes that govern development of pharmaceuticals and medical technology. The objective is to A) translate EUPATI toolbox into Swedish, and B) disseminate information nationally. Objective A is met; the toolbox is translated and Swedish files are quality controlled by an expert group. Compliance with objective B is delayed due to technical challenges at EUPATI. Dissemination of information will begin in the fall of 2020.

Expected results and effects

An expected result of the project is that the Swedish version of EUPATI toolbox will be published on www.eupati.eu. Publication is delayed due to technical challenges on the EUPATI platform. An expected long-term effect of the work done in the project is the establishment of a Swedish EUPATI platform that will provide training and competence development for patients, adapted to Swedish conditions. Work to achieve this continues, for example through dialogue with key stakeholders, possible financiers and relevant authorities.

Planned approach and implementation

The setup with an external expert group consisting of patient representatives from several patient organizations and professionals, who was responsible for reviewing the translated documents worked well. The delayed publication of the Swedish Toolbox can be referred to the technical challenges that have arisen centrally at www.eupati.eu, which the project has not been able to influence.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
