Funding from Vinnova | SEK 49 610 |
Project duration | March 2015 - September 2015 |
Status | Completed |
Purpose and goal
To Establish a strong collaboration between Professor Haase and Karolinska Institutet for biomarker discovery and to strengthen translational medicine.
Results and expected effects
Specifically Professor Haase will be employed by the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB) and will establish protocols that allow the profiling of gene expression in single cells isolated from normal and diseased kidneys. It is projected that data generated under the proposed research collaboration will lead to future interactions with pharmaceutical and biomedical industry and lay ground work for the development of novel diagnostic tests and treatment strategies
Approach and implementation
During the planning phase Professor Haase has met with his collaborators Professor Sten Linnarsson, Professor Peter Stenvinkel and staff from SciLifeLab facilities to set up the scientific collaborations and discuss the project-related experimental strategies that are proposed in the grant application.
