TOPUP: Mobile pilotplant for biogas - Onsite Test and Demo

Purpose and goal

The project RISE T&D is to contribute to development and innovation. The goal is to increase the accessibility of test and demonstration facilities at RISE institutes, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and universities. Concrete T&D-projects have been acting as test pilots and the mobile pilot plant for biogas trials has been appointed as such. A further objective of these test pilots is to spread the experience to other T&D environments within the RISE institutes. Aims and objectives is fulfilled well within the test pilot project.

Expected results and effects

In the pilot test, several new national and international contacts have been made with companies / SMEs and universities. Development of new technology for upgrading biogas to vehicle gas in collaboration with SMEs are examples of national activities. Canada, Argentina and China are examples of new int. markets. Workshops and training sessions have been organized in the RISE institutions to exchange experiences and for competence building. This has led to better knowledge of the resources in the form of T&D available which then strengthens the offer out to customers and partners.

Planned approach and implementation

The test pilot project - with the mobile pilot plant for biogas trials - have worked well in creating synergies across the RISE institutions, and also to lift the specific TOD environment to new as well as existing markets and potential partners. To have knowledge, and to be able to highlight more aspects, of the RISE institutions T&D environments in the meeting with clients and partners has proven to be very successful and something that strengthens the offer as an innovation partner in a significant way.
