Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project has been that Ariterm should identify and implement new services. Ariterm is a producer of products for bioenergy heating. The new product generation has been equipped with more sensors and more advanced control systems. This has given new possibilities to develop IT-based services around the physical products. The project has led to new services offered by Ariterm. For the other project parners the project has led to business in a new industry and to new knowledge around service development methodologies and how these can be implemented in industry.

Results and expected effects

Ariterm has developed new offerings and services, adding more value to their products. SH has been able to complement their existing method for agile SW development with a business and user focused method for requirements collection. FKH is able to offer methods and experience in business and user focused service development to the Swedish industry. SP has contributed to the swedish research in service development by practically testing methods on end-user focused service innovation.

Approach and implementation

The poject has identified a number of new business opportunities for Ariterm. Furthermore the project has developed technical base functionality (´service platform´) and a few services aimed at end users and installers. The project has been conductedby a proved model that involves end users (and installers) in the innovation process. The focus for the research effort has been to both interact with and document the service innovation process and the interaction between the different partners within the project consortium.
