Important results from the project

Yes in part: The inventory indicates a need for new solutions to facilitate business contacts, the number of respondents was lower than planned. However, they indicate that: There is a difficulty in reaching the right decision-makers. SMEs want to increase collaboration with larger companies. There is curiosity about XR, but little experience. Specific budgets for this type of technology is rare. The goal of dev a simple prototype was reached. Results can serve as a basis for further developm.

Expected long term effects

The project has highlighted that the gap between technology availability and actual understanding of the benefits of XR is large, especially among smaller companies. At the same time, there is genuine interest that suggests further exploration is warranted. The most important outcome has been the realization of the need to demonstrate concrete value to go from POC to POV on multiple levels – technical, business and practical – in order to create a future solution that meets real needs.

Approach and implementation

Online survey to 50 SMEs with multiple choice questions and free text answers, distributed via direct mail, social media and networks. Low response affected the breadth of the analysis, but the material still provided valuable indications for moving forward with the concept and development of a simple prototype. The project mainly followed the planned timeline, but the response rate was a difficult external factor to influence and continued development would benefit from larger response volumes.
