Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The International Science Festival Gothenburg overall aim is to use different kinds of activities to inspire especially children and youth to further study, to contribute to and strengthen the country´s skills. The hope is that with the 2015 interdisciplinary programs that the Science Festival plays an important role to show the possibilities offered by science and research, and thereby to become more curious. An important part is that everyone is welcome and that there is a democratic forum where the program for the public is free.

Results and expected effects

The program is interdisciplinary, and often different disciplines come together in a theme. We hope that the effect of the festival will be that more people see the opportunities that science and research provide for a positive development of society and that more want to be involved. The festival also plays an important platform for researchers from the academy and knowledge-intensive organizations as a opportunity to present and discuss their research with different people.

Approach and implementation

The International Science Festival Gothenburg is implemented through a broad cooperation with universities and other knowledge-intensive organizations from all over Sweden. There is no other comparable festival in Sweden. The analysis is that the collaboration platform is important both for the scientific community and the general public from multiple dimensions, not least regarding participation and influence.
