Purpose and goal

The first project objective was to develop a packages of methods for norm critical/creative innovation, with respect to gender, based on experiences from the previous project ´The Gender Lab´. The method kit NOVA was broadened to include all the grounds for discrimination, and based on a significantly larger number of previous research projects and our collected experiences. The second goal was that the material would be based on the format method cards, which was also the case. The aim was to create a material that can support norm creative innovation, which we achieved.

Results and expected effects

The project result is a method kit, which is unique. It converts complex and difficult knowledge to a relatively easily accessible and creative material for innovation. The method kit has already received attention. Our aspiration is that it will make it easier to understand norm creative innovation: that it will serve as a primer to the subject, both for professionals and students, and that it contributes to more inclusive and equal future innovations.

Approach and implementation

The implementation was slightly delayed, due to two sick leaves, and material was not completed until January 2016 instead of December 2015. We knew that the project would be challenging. It also became considerably more complex, when the scope was broadened to include all discrimination grounds. We also knew that the applied funds would not be enough. Overall, the material has taken 1425 hours to develop in which Vinnova has funded about a third.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
