Important results from the project
An innovative model for faster integration in the Swedish labour market was elaborated based on minority networks´ own experiences and international examples. Six dialog forums with participants from the target group, researchers, employer and public sector representatives in combination with an analysis of national and international research and examples resulted in the pilot model Entry Hub. The model, which will be further developed and tested as a next step, is unique and has already attracted great interest both nationally and internationally.
Expected long term effects
The target group currently lacks physical places for interaction with actors in the labour market and networks relevant to the individual. Entry Hub is 1. a physical place enabling meetings with networks and employers relevant to the individual every day, 2. is created and driven by minority networks with high credibility in the local community and activities are designed in collaboration with actors in the labour market based on specific needs in the local area, 3. empowers the individual to activate, utilize, and develop her/his skills, and 4. gives employers access to new competence.
Approach and implementation
The primary target group was involved in the mapping and analysis throughout the process. Involvement of key individuals generated trust and commitment from the groups. The networks themselves appointed representatives to the reference group, where the model was elaborated and verified. Having a mixed reference group with members of the target group, researchers, public actors and employers resulted in a dynamic process and internal and external credibility. Employers in several sectors have responded positively and has shown great interest in taking part in the upcoming pilot.
