Important results from the project

The preparation project aimed to produce a basis and prepare for the establishment of a test bed. This has been achieved by - identify priority areas of training related to skills needs in GGVV region suitable for the upcoming testbädden -identify which approach to distance learning to be tested and further developed based on models developed in other ongoing project. -examine the physical and structural prerequisites required for a future implementation project. - create a project application for the implementation project.

Expected long term effects

Colleges and universities often lack proximity to the target group of non-students and their employers, which makes it difficult for the target group to adapt. A regional and digital node with good knowledge of local working life would be needed, which could be an arena for the development of new or modified forms of distribution of education and research linked to the region´s needs. The project has shown this through the universities ´and companies´ continued interest and participation in a future implementation project. The idea of the project has been reinforced by the pandemic.

Approach and implementation

The work has been conducted in various working groups with management and coordination of the project manager. Companies from the region have participated in meetings with the universities to capture the educational needs and discuss pedagogical approaches. A steering group with representatives from all actors has had close contacts and ensured the project´s quality and success. A reference group has been appointed to further anchor and strengthen the project´s relevance. Already early in the project, the need and interest for a test bed was determined.
