Important results from the project
The goal of the test bed is "to utilize the opportunities digitalisation and new technology provide for sustainable and profitable agriculture. The test bed must be accessible and open to users outside the test bed´s own organization, be longer than the start-up project, have a wide area of use and be intended for testing and development of new products, services and processes." Now the testbed is established as an innovation environment for new technologies for agriculture, mainly focused on crop cultivation and digitalisation, automation and electric agricultural machinery.
Expected long term effects
Today, many different project are connected to the RISE Test bed Digitialised Agriculture. Many visits have been carried out and many articles and other media have been published about the test bed. The test bed is open and available to everyone. The test bed can be used for testing and development of new products, services and processes. The test bed has contributed to the digital transformation of agriculture and society by being an arena for development. Several of the testbed´s partners have expressed that the testbed played a major role in their data-driven development.
Approach and implementation
The 18 parties led by RISE have together designed the Testbed as a physical and virtual testbed and innovation environment, mostly during the pandemic. The work was first organised in five focus areas and was then transitioned into different cases. Several webinars have been conducted. The test bed is arranged mini crop farm to form the basis for development, testing and demo. The ambition was to collect as much data as possible and build up a data infrastructure. In parallel, several project around automation and electrification have been carried out connected to the test bed.
