Important results from the project
The project aimed to raise awareness of sustainability issues. Those who participated in the hack as designers / programmers all reported that they had gained new insights and new ideas on how they could work on issues related to sustainability in their respective fields. The media coverage also made the content available to a wider audience to gain insights on sustainability and the possible connection to technology. Also the researchers who participated gained new insights into how technology can be used in their work and in society.
Expected long term effects
The seminar was full, and also the hack got the maximum number of participants that we had calculated that we could take in. The solutions presented were innovative and linked to the research. Since the researchers were available for feedback during the process, the teams had been able to work on ideas that were relevant to the challenge.
Approach and implementation
The seminar was attended by many prominent speakers and laid a solid, broad ground for the participants of the hack to work on. It was appreciated and according to participants inspiring. Our analysis is, however, it was a little too long, and that next time we´ll condense and highlight the most relevant content. The actual hack was a successful process as a whole. The teams got to work independently, to call or meet with researchers to ask questions and get feedback on their ideas and their process from the team in Shift and Protothon. This that was noticeable when they presented their results.
