Purpose and goal
The aims of the Water platform were to: - create a national platform for water, widely established within the water sector - to develop and formulate an organization, a communication plan and a plan for the platform activities - increased participation from Swedish actors in Horizon 2020. A coordination group was formed with representatives from universities, institutes, authorities and companies. Information was shared about coming calls from Horizon 2020 and a discussion was started about how the platform can be successful to influence EU regarding future calls of Horizon 2020.
Results and expected effects
Early information about coming calls of Horizon 2020 was given to the Swedish actors which gave the prerequisites for an increased level of participation in Horizon 2020. The work of marketing the Swedish strength areas was started, since a group from the Water platform were formed to participate at the stakeholder conference in WssTP in Brussels June 25-26, 2014 Through an active participation in the Platform from some companies and information to a larger number of companies, the interest for Swedish water companies to participate in water challenges in EU have increased.
Approach and implementation
Two coordinator group meetings were held (131108 and 140124) and the participants have together started the work of formulating an application for a B-project which has been presented for the actors in the innovation agenda ´ the Water vision´ (around 70 companies and other organizations). An open one workshop was held 140318 in order to highlight the potential of participating in Horizon 2020 and to inform about the Water Platform. Around 30 different actors in the water sector participated in the workshop.
