Important results from the project
Sweden Robot Hack attracted talents from Eskilstuna, Västerås (MDH), Stockholm (KTH). The different skill sets of the participants furthered the project´s purpose of stimulating innovation by introducing methods from the IT-industry, computer game user interfaces, graphics etc. The competition consisted of qualified robotics challenges, using industrial robots, voice command software, image analysis, and handling skills.
Expected long term effects
Executing a successful Sweden Robot Hack event is a fundamental result of the project. A working competition concept was applied, and the teams generated solutions to robotics challenges. Indications of long term effects include; interest for robotics solutions among SMEs participating jury work (http://swedenrobothack.se/jury) ability to attract talents to an automation/robotics event with backgrounds and skills from other industries (http://swedenrobothack.se/lag )
Approach and implementation
Organizing Sweden Robot Hack meant working with many different target groups. Businesses were involved in developing the competition concept (http://swedenrobothack.se/uppdraget ) and the home page has reached the general public (e.g. http://robotnyheter.se/2015/02/16/sweden-robot-hack-i-eskilstuna-9-10-maj/ , http://www.verkstaderna.se/kategorier/alla/de-vann-sweden-robot-hack/ ). A third target group is talents, with a programming and ICT background, who were attracted as participants.
