Important results from the project
The project focuses on sustainable, quality-assured comprehensive solutions for new constructions and renovation of swimming facilities, focusing on safety, the environment, and material choices.
Expected long term effects
Results from the project show that: - new recommendations are needed for steel grades used in swimming halls. - that higher demands should be placed on the climate envelope of swimming halls. - specific requirements for ventilation systems in swimming pools are needed. - that it is possible to lower the chlorine content in swimming pools. In the future, swimming pools should be built and renovated more safely and more sustainably leading to lower life cycle cost.
Approach and implementation
Project activities largely followed the process outlined in the application. Implementation has been through project group meetings, reference group meetings, and five major meetings where the initial project ideas were developed and substantiated.
