Purpose and goal

The project is related to the SIP ´Metallic Materials´ and aimed to increase Swedish participation in activities on metallic materials in the european arena, both strategically and at the project level. This is to accelerate the achievement of objectives in the seven steps in the strategic agenda ´National Action on Metallic Materials´.The goal that the StratMet platform has an natural place on the European research arena has been achieved via ESTEP, SPIRE etc and a particular focus has been to include Swedish interests in the initiative Low Carbon Steelmaking for Horizon Europe.

Expected results and effects

The results include a good overview of European research on metallic materials and platforms for strategic influence, effective sharing of information among innovation area representatives, increased Swedish visibility in the European arena and influence on the formulation of calls and insights into application processes. A significant part of the work has been dissemination and advocacy in Sweden to increase Swedish involvement in European activities.

Planned approach and implementation

The work has involved activities to gather information, influence European research and disseminate knowledge within the innovation area. Speakers have been invited to the annual programme conferences to different aspects of European research in the area of metallic materials
