Purpose and goal

The study aims to contribute to Innovair’s objectives by examining how the aviation industry value chain promotes societal development. It includes a literature review on spillover effects, an analysis of methods to measure and understand them, as well as updated case studies. Furthermore, future strategies for companies and authorities to maximize spillover effects through structures, networks, and procurement are discussed.

Expected effects and result

The project “Spillover in Aeronautical Value Chains” aims to identify and categorize spillover effects, update with new case studies, and propose organizational models to maximize societal benefits. It seeks to contribute to technological development, increased employment, and economic growth through innovation and knowledge transfer within the Swedish aeronautical industry. The project also aims to improve collaboration between civilian and military sectors.

Planned approach and implementation

The project includes four work packages: (1) Literature review on research spillovers, (2) Case study analyzing selected projects for spillover effects, (3) Future study on promoting spillovers, and (4) Knowledge dissemination via reports, workshops, and presentations. Data collection involves interviews, workshops, and secondary materials, with risk management ensured through collaboration with Innovair and alternative data sources.
