Reference number
Coordinator Uppsala universitet - Institutionen för kemi - Ångström
Funding from Vinnova SEK 200 000
Project duration October 2013 - June 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

On short term we will coordinate the Swedish strong efforts via support from VINNOVA in order to influence the EU program Horizon 2020. On long term we aim for coordination advantages in research and development of enterprises, so that Sweden may be a leading nation in knowledge, innovation and enterprise in the technologies of the future for production of solar electricity and solar fuels.

Results and expected effects

Coordination of research groups and companies within the PLatform leads to greater visibility for solar energy technologies and research in Sweden. Greater visibility, knowledge and a domestic market are good conditions for attracting venture capital. Groups within the Platform have been active in the AMPEA (a Joint Programme in the EU European Energy Research Alliance) board, to promote solar fuels research within H2020.

Approach and implementation

Our Workshop led to new contacts and that more companies joined the Platform. Our activities to promote visibility will be increased, which may influence Swedish economic support for research, development and enterprise in the solar energy area. Our activities within the EU AMPEA and Photovoltaics Platforms is longterm and target the calls for 2016-17.
