Important results from the project

The objective of the pilot Social Impact & Growth Day conference was to help local entrepreneurs create social impact and growth outside Swedish borders by providing a supportive venue with access to capital, tools, inspiration, and networks needed to scale their ideas. We achieved the ideal mix of participants needed to achieve our purpose, including 12 local startups, 8 European Impact Hub Scaling managers, 2 social investors, 2 successfully scaled startups, and 2 media experts.

Expected long term effects

The pilot conference provided ample opportunity for knowledge exchange via co-creative sessions between local experts, social entrepreneurs, and representatives from Impact Hub´s European network. Survey results suggest potential for immediate impact: Asked how they would implement their learnings, participants revealed next-steps like integrating insights into their program design, contacting a supportive individual recommended to them, and meeting with an Impact Hub Scaling Program manager.

Approach and implementation

The conference was facilitated with processes designed to invoke maximum participation and knowledge exchange, including co-creative sessions aimed at solving actual scaling challenges held by participants. A survey on conference content revealed diversity of ideas, mix of participating businesses, and a supportive atmosphere as key highlights. Asked if they would recommend the conference to other entrepreneurs interested in scaling globally on a scale of 1 to 5, the average rating was 4.3.
