Purpose and goal

Inventions that could be developed into innovations is key to Sweden´s prosperity. We are carrying on a proud tradition since the days of the inventor Alfred Nobel. The SKAPA Foundation wants to encourage creative people by distributing Sweden´s largest innovation prize. The prize highlights the importance of innovation for economic development. A prerequisite for economic development is the encouragement of innovation and there has the SKAPA price an important role as an energy creator. The purpose of the SKAPA prize for young inventors is to inspire and support young innovators.

Expected results and effects

The SKAPA prize highlights the importance of innovation for economic development. A tremendous creativity among the country´s young inventors and that the price has given the prize winners a real boost including a large impact in the press.

Planned approach and implementation

The selection of winners is done in two steps. First a jury appointed by the regional ALMI Company with local inventors associations selects one to two county winners for the SKAPA-prize who gets 10 000 SEK and go to the big national final. In the second step a national jury selects the national winners. A review panel prepare the work of the national jury. The winners were announced in Stockholm on November 9 2017.
