Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to develop an efficient process for external calls suitable for both SWElife and Vinnova. The goal of the project was to use these calls as a tool to * Identify and fund innovative, high quality projects to strengthen cooperation between health care, academia and / or industry * Optimize innovation support systems in Sweden through collaboration and increased exchange of expertise and knowledge * Strengthen the projects business skills by transferring a modified version of the BIO-X model, which was developed in the VINNVÄXT initiative Uppsala BIO, to SWElife

Expected results and effects

The project has resulted in the following: * Introduced an internal working process for external calls within SWElife. * Carried out three calls for innovation projects * Defined and planned the transfer of the BIO-X to SWElife hands-on model * Built up a national coordinator network of innovation actors around Sweden * Been a driving force in the three ERUF applications to get regional initiatives to interact nationally through SWElife All activities actively contribute to SWElifes long term goals and vision

Planned approach and implementation

During this project, SWElife has carried out three calls 1. Call in diabetes 2014-2015 2. Call within Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) 2015-2017 3. Call within biomarkers in cancer 2015-2017 To further contribute to Swelifes long term goals, we have defined and planned a national introduction of SWElife Hands-on model, based on the BIO-X model, together with coordinators from the innovation system throughout Sweden.
