Purpose and goal
The goal of this project is, out of the existing product Simplygon, to create an automated conversion process that converts industrial CAD data into a form that is optimized for online visualization in real time, and at the same time protect the CAD data (IP rights) against illegal copying and publishing. We have had a good outcome, and we have created a first version of the system, which meets all the set targets in the product description.
Expected results and effects
The outcome of the project is a software that can automatically convert CAD data to visualized 3D data, and that can present this data as an interactive object rendered in 3D, online, on platforms such as PC, IPad and mobile. The results are positive, and we have a first fully running version of the product.
Planned approach and implementation
The project was divided into four work packages, which maps the sub-steps in the conversion and visualization process. During the project, we hired developers, hence the higher personnel costs than budgeted, and the external costs were kept at a lower level than budget. The total outcome is good and together with the right staff we managed to achieve what we had ambition to develop.
