Purpose and goal

The project aimed to create awareness of service design and methods therefore to create added value for manufacturing SME. Five companies have been addressed in two seminars and individual consultations. Three areas of needs are highlighted, all within the context on new offerings: -Relations and market-building through the design of an educational concept. -Design of a service concept in order to add value to existing products through service blue-printing. -Formation of joint offerings towards new export markets through the use of lead-user studies and customer understanding.

Results and expected effects

The SMEs have through increased knowledge of service design and methods therefor been able to address potential area of serviceinnovation in line with the company´s own strategy. This gave the participants the possibility to concretize service development concepts and bring them further in their own organization.

Approach and implementation

The project has had a major focus on addressing the SME in a way that is so time and cost-effective as possible to them. The set-up with two seminars and intermediate consultative work has proved to work very well. This has meant that companies have been able to complete the project fully and that they could link the result strongly to their own operations.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
