Purpose and goal

The purpose and goal was to learn more about and find the capability, in how to run a successful contest, in turn to develop the technique for fraction of textile mixtures to reduce the load on the environment and at the same time provide raw material to the industry that makes cellulose for textiles. The innovation contest is aimed to students, researchers, businesses and others who have ideas and expertise/interest in solving the challenge.

Results and expected effects

The project group has a clear plan that is ready to proceed into next level. A scientific team has been formed to evaluate, criteria and formulate challenge. The project manager has acquired the knowledge and contacts to be able to successfully manage an innovation competition, and if necessary, supplement with expertise externally. Competences has been selected and the pre-work has worked out well so we believe it will end up as a successful competition.

Approach and implementation

Since start of this project following has been done: -Project manager has learned by reading, interviews, meetings with expertises in how to execute an innovation contests. -Put together the project team from planning to perform. -Concretized the competition itself that are important for making the task as clear as possible. -Developed a framework for the competition´s content with rules, time schedule, materials etc. -Sought funding from external companies to use for prize money for the competition.
