Purpose and goal
RISE was leading partner for in-depth interviews with experts in the field of cyber security research, maritime technology providers, port operators and maritime administrations. The interviews focused on authentication, identity management, confidentiality, integrity, accountability, accessibility and resilience.
Expected results and effects
In this feasibility study, the strengths, weaknesses and threats of the digital maritime infrastructure of STM (https://www.stmvalidation.eu/) have been analyzed regarding IT security, accessibility and security aspects. The preliminary study aims to provide input to future design in such a way that through increased security and performance it creates new business opportunities and leads to higher cyber security.
Planned approach and implementation
In-depth interviews and meetings with experts from the field of cyber security research, maritime technology suppliers, port operators and maritime administrations were arranged to highlight the needs for future design and performance of the infrastructure. We have focused on how to increase confidence in secure data sharing and human-machine-machine communication between episodic linked actors in this and similar ecosystems.
