Purpose and goal

Overarching objectives: Exercise the role of Seconded National Expert for Connectivity and Automated Driving, with the aim to: 1. Highlight Swedish issues and priorities at a European level. 2. Contribute to increased Swedish activity visavis the EC, and that the EC research agenda includes Swedish key issues. 3. Contribute expertise to the EC. The objectives are considered to have been met.

Expected results and effects

1.On-site location in Brussels has enabled participation in various activities, opportunities to highlight Swedish issues and priorities at a EU level. 2. Topics of great interest to Swedish actors are represented in Horizon 2020´s new work programme. EC has been made aware about Swedish actors, who have been encouraged to participate in different contexts. EC often searches for stakeholders, experts, and Swedish individuals, organizations have been identified, invited to participate. Result: Increased involvement of Swedish actors. 3. Expertise has been contributed.

Planned approach and implementation

Exercise the role of Seconded National Expert for Connectivity and Automated Driving through placement at the European Commission´s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, DG RTD, in Brussels. This has been done through on-site location in Brussels from Dec 2015-June 2018.
