Purpose and goal
The project aims to demonstrate a scalable digital twin platform enabling early, efficient, and sustainable development of software-defined vehicles. Its goal is to combine virtual hardware with advanced simulation environments to validate Android Automotive functions without physical prototypes, accelerating innovation while reducing environmental impact.
Expected effects and result
The project will deliver a scalable digital twin platform enabling early validation of automotive software by running Android Automotive on Arm-based cloud hardware before target hardware exists. This reduces prototype needs, shortens development cycles, and improves quality. The effects include lower environmental impact, more efficient collaboration, and stronger Swedish competitiveness.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be executed in four phases: integrating Arm-based cloud hardware, connecting simulation environments, establishing Driver-in-the-Loop testing, and delivering a complete digital twin demonstrator. Development is carried out jointly by RemotiveLabs, Arm, and Volvo Cars, with continuous validation in cloud-based environments.
