Purpose and goal
The total value of houses and apartments in Sweden is above 4 000 BSEK, about the same size as the Swedish stock market. In comparison to traditional financial markets the private real estate market lacks a toolbox to manage financial risks. This project is about how to develop this toolbox. A prerequisite to be able to manage market risk is a reliable and precise index. Valueguard´s strategy is to provide consumer products such as market insurances based on the NASDAQ OMX Valueguard-KTH Housing Index (HOX) through established market channels to home owners.
