Important results from the project
The purpose of this study was to examine the role of the risk-based approach as a decision support in the innovation process. In the final report (attached) the risk-based approach is problematized and other approaches, that could serve as a complement, are presented.
Expected long term effects
The main result of the study is list of suggestions for future research and development projects. These are based on interviews (with informants from the Swedish industry) and a literature review. A further result of the project is an established collaboration with Norwegian researchers. A research application has already been submitted to Demos - Norwegian Research Council.
Approach and implementation
The study was initiated by a workshop. Based on the results from the workshop, interviews were conducted with industry representatives. In addition, a literature review was made on different theories about what safety and success is, and how they are connected to risk. The work has been done iteratively. The result is presented as four main aspects in the final report. The results will also be presented at a seminar with the theme ´Innovation and Risk´ in Stockholm, November 5.
