Important results from the project
The overall objective has been to contribute to better health and care for residents and patients, through increased quality and efficient use of resources. At the same time, the project has aimed to enhance business opportunities for companies. By strengthening regional collaboration for innovation, applying partnership models for collaboration with industry partners, and creating conditions for scaling up specific innovations as well as models, processes and lessons learned, Region Västerbotten and Region Örebro have worked together to fulfill the project objective.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in: - Initiated upscale of innovation in Västerbotten dental care and exchange of experiences with Örebro contributes to strengthened regional collaboration and increased utilization of innovation. - Initiated innovation concept and partnership with companies in Örebro, according to the Västerbotten model, contributes to strengthened regional and business collaboration and increased utilization of innovation. - A publication with lessons learned/good practice for innovation contributes to strengthened conditions for innovation in healthcare.
Approach and implementation
The project has been implemented in three work packages, each corresponding to the goals of the project. The work has in part been based on Västerbotten´s dental care, with exchanges of experience with Örebro. In other parts, the work has been conducted on the basis of Örebro, mainly from R&D/Innovation and prioritized areas of need suited for innovation partnerships with companies. This has been strengthened with models, exchange of experience and lessons learned from Västerbotten. The two regions have jointly been responsible for the publication on innovation in health care.
